GB Theatre Company - about us
Founded in 2010, GB Theatre Company produces some of this country’s most
spectacular open air theatre. Bringing classic plays to audiences around
the UK and Europe, it has quickly gained an excellent reputation for staging
outstanding drama.
Performances have delighted both seasoned theatregoers
and those new to the works of popular playwrights, including of course,
Shakespeare. Touring the finest historical outdoor venues, the Company’s
open air productions provide a perfect summer evening’s entertainment,
whilst performing in traditional costume and sticking to the traditional
texts.
Performances are always dynamic and superbly acted. In
2012 we had submissions from almost 5000 actors and agents, such is the
qudos of this Company. New venues for this year include Chepstow Castle,
Exeter Castle, Kensington Palace Gardens, Sterts Theatre Cornwall, Ashton
Court, Bristol and Warwick Castle and, for the first time, tickets can
be bought online via the website.
GB Theatre Company was established by
Gill Roca and Barrie Palmer. Gill has been involved with theatre production
for a number of years and Barrie is a talented actor having performed with
The Royal Shakespeare Company and has a wealth of experience of running
national and international tours. Stacey Roca,
a talented actress in her own right, joined the team in 2010 as associate
producer and has played an important role in the casting and audition processes.
Together with company manager, David Davies, a fantastic
actor with a background in theatre management, they aim to deliver first-class
theatre to enable others to share their passion.
